The Commodore Superintendent Dockyard hosted a thought-provoking seminar on the progressive portfolio of the Centre for Naval Research and Development (CNRD) on 10-11 July 2024, at the Area Multipurpose Hall, BNS ISSA KHAN, Chattogram. The event, titled "Transformation of CNRD for a Smart Navy: Charting the Course through Industry-Academia Collaboration", highlighted the potential of CNRD's partnerships with industry and academia in building a Smart Navy.
Rear Admiral Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim, Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, honoured the seminar as the chief guest. The two-day event saw the participation of numerous military professionals, industry experts, and distinguished scholars who engaged in keynote speeches, panel discussions, and invited talks. 09 Scholars from 05 renowned universities, 06 industry experts from 06 industries, 05 army officers headed by Col Khalid Mahmud (MIST) and 14 Air Force officers headed by AOC, BAF Base ZHR, AVM Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan were present in the Seminar.
The seminar vividly showcased the R&D and innovation works of CNRD including its important and critical achievements. The seminar emphasised the importance of integrating smart technologies, such as AI and IOT into naval system. Panel discussions explored synergies between industry, academia, and defence sectors, sharing best practices and insights for future collaborations.
The event concluded with a display of CNRD's projects, demonstrating innovative research and technological advancements benefiting Bangladesh Navy. Attendees left with renewed enthusiasm for advancing maritime security capabilities of BN and fostering self-reliance through collaborative efforts.

On 1st March 2023, the 36th Commissioning Anniversary of BN Dockyard was commemorated with a series of planned activities. A Preetibhoj, a ceremonial meal, was organized at the BN Dockyard Recreation Hall and Civil Barrack for both the serving sailors and civilian employees. Additionally, Sadaka(Charity) is given at 0900 hrs in front of dining hall and special munajat (prayer) was conducted at the Flotilla and Dockyard Mosque following the Dhuhr prayer. This prayer sought blessings for the ongoing growth and success of BN Dockyard and its personnel, wishing them continued development and prosperity.

The venue was adorned with lively decorations, featuring colorful balloons, festoons, and banners, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Various engaging activities and events unfolded throughout the day, contributing to a truly memorable occasion. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard had the privilege of awarding prizes to deserving workers and the children of dockyard civil personnel who achieved a GPA of 5 in their SSC and HSC examinations, respectively. These awards served as recognition for their outstanding contributions in repair and maintenance work and academic achievements. A raffle draw program was incorporated into the event, serving as a major attraction among all activities. The picnic was also graced by the presence of other senior naval officers from the Chattogram Naval Area, further enhancing the significance of the event.

Recalling the glorious founding day, the Armed Forces Day was celebrated in CSD Organisation through the arrangement of various programs in a befitting manner. The day was started with the offering of special prayer seeking divine blessings for the country’s welfare and progress and continued development of the Armed Forces at BN Fleet and Dockyard Mosque. To recognize the dedication and excellence of performance, CSD has awarded NGP to Cdr Md Salahuddin Murad, (C), BN and Md Rakibul Islam, CREA. On the occasion the whole organisation was decorated traditionally with colorful flags, festoons and lights. To observer the day, A documentary film show was arranged and attended by civil and military personnel except man on duty held on ‘Armed Forces Day’ at JCO’s, PO’s, Ships company Leading and bellow mess and Civil Barack. A lunch party was arranged at Dockyard Dining Hall where all officers, sailors and nominated representatives of civilian employees and their families were present.

The annual inspection of BN Dockyard was held on 14 Sep 2023. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard reviewed the parade at ISSA KHAN Parade Ground at 0830 where all officers, sailors and selected civilian personnel were present. He also inspected a number of offices, messes and workshops on 14 Sep 2023. The same day at 1300, the general evaluation took place at Dockyard Parade Ground with lively participation of all members of CSD organisation.

On 5th June 2023, the Tree Plantation Campaign-2023 was officially inaugurated at BN Dockyard by Commodore Superintendent Dockyard. In a symbolic gesture, he personally planted a seedling of Amrupali at the south-west corner of the CSD Building, marking the beginning of the campaign. Following the plantation, a special prayer was offered to Almighty Allah, seeking blessings for the well-being of all the members of the Bangladesh Navy and the success of the plantation program. This prayer emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the positive impact of the tree plantation initiative.

On 22nd April 2023, the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated. The main Eid congregation took place at the Issa Khan Parade Ground at 0730 hours, with the attendance of all naval personnel from the Chattogram naval area. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard had the honor of joining the congregation and participating in the Eid prayers. Following the prayers, Commodore Superintendent Dockyard exchanged warm Eid greetings with all the members of the CSD organization. This gathering took place at the Dockyard Recreation Hall, fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebration among the participants.

On 26th March 2023, BN Dockyard joyously celebrated the 53rd Independence and National Day. To honour the occasion, both the military and civilian personnel of BN Dockyard paid their heartfelt tributes to the Martyrs and Veterans of the 1971 Liberation War. Following the Fajr Prayer, a special Munajat (prayer) was held, expressing gratitude and remembrance for the sacrifices made during the war. Furthermore, an engaging documentary film show was organized at the Dockyard Recreation Hall, which was followed by a discussion session focused on Independence and National Day. This event provided a platform for reflection and dialogue, allowing participants to delve into the significance and historical context of this important day. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard had the honor of presenting prizes to discussants.

The CSD Organization observed Genocide Day on 25th March 2023 with a series of commemorative events. To pay homage to all the martyrs, a documentary film show was presented at the Dockyard Recreation Hall, followed by a discussion session on Genocide Day. This provided an opportunity to reflect on the significance of this solemn occasion. In addition, a special prayer was offered at the Flotilla & Dockyard mosque after the Esha Prayer, seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of all the martyrs. Furthermore, as a symbolic gesture, a one-minute blackout was observed from 2100 - 2101 within the CSD organization, serving as a mark of respect and remembrance.

The BN HOCKEY Competitionship 2023 concluded with an intense final match between ISSA KHAN and COMDHAKA teams, which took place at the BN Dockyard Area Sports Ground on 16 February 2023. The event was organized by BN Dockyard. In a closely contested game, the COMDHAKA team emerged as the champions, defeating ISSA KHAN by a score of 2-1 goals. The final match was graced by Commodore Superintendent Dockyard, Commodore Khandokar Akhter Hossain (E), nup, ndc, psc, phd, BN, who attended as the Chief Guest. He also had the privilege of distributing prizes to the champion and runner-up teams.

The BN CRICKET Competition 2022 final match took place at ISSA KHAN Area Sports Ground on 30 November 2022, organized by BN Dockyard. The teams competing were COMKHUL and SHAHEED MOAZZAM. In an exciting match, the COMKHUL team emerged as champions, defeating SHAHEED MOAZZAM by 6 wickets. The final match was graced by Commodore Superintendent Dockyard, Commodore Md Benjir Mahmud (E), npp, psc, BN, who attended as the Chief Guest. He also had the honor of presenting prizes to the champion and runner-up teams. The Man of the Series award went to Lt Cdr A T M Wali Mehfuz, (G), P NO 2604 (IK), while the Man of the Match title was awarded to O NO 20220093 M Sani, PM-II (COMKHUL).

The CSD Organisation organised the CSD Cup Volleyball 2022 competition among its various shops and departments. The final match was played between Dynamic (PLC) and Turbine Dynamites (TD) teams at Dockyard Football Ground on 09 March 2022. Dynamic (PLC) Team beat the Turbine Dynamites (TD). The event was attended by all personnel of the organization where the Commodore Superintendent Dockyard was the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the champion and runner up teams.

One hundred and forty participants from different naval commands including Naval Headquarters took part in the seminar. Later he along with all his senior staff exchanged Eid greetings with members of CSD organisation and allied offices at the Dockyard Recreation Hall. After this, they exchanged Eid greetings with personnel from ships under refit.

Bangla Nobobarsho 1426 was celebrated on 01 Baishakh 1426 (14 Apr 2019) in Chattogram Naval Area in a festive mode. A cultural program was arranged in ISHA KHAN hangar by BN Ladies Club, Chattogram. Enthusiastic participation of officers, ladies, and kids made the occasion a colourful one. In the same day, another enchanting program was arranged by BNFWA Chattogram in Sailors' Colony-1 to celebrate the day as national traditional heritage. The Commander Chattogram Naval Area, Rear Admiral M Abu Ashraf (TAS), BSP, ncc, psc graced both the programmes as chief guest.

A docudrama 'Hasina- A Daughter's Tale' was witnessed by all the officers and their families of CSD Organisation on 15 Dec 2018 in Dockyard Recreation Hall. The film encapsulates the testimony of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana on the assassination of their father, our Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of their family members in 1975. This docudrama is based on the life of the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the struggles she had to endure to fight for the truth.

Certificate award ceremony of training on 'Ship's Hull Inspection' was held at Dockyard Recreation Hall on 30 Oct 2018. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard attended the ceremony as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants. A total of 25 officers and sailors took part in the training from different naval commands of Chattogram. All officers of CSD organisation were present on the ceremony.

The Commodore Superintendent Dockyard formally handed over the CNS Commendation to O No 900715 Ranjit Chandra Shikdar, MCPO(O/E) , O No 20140004 M Humayun Kabir, OA-II, and M Hazzaj Bin Abul (P No 4778), Skill Grade in a ceremony held at Dockyard Gun Shop on 31 Oct 2018. They were awarded the Commendations for the recognition of making the 40L/70 Fast Forty Twin Gun Mounting of BNS BANGABANDHU operational which was non-operational for a long time.

A 3-day training session on Ship's Hull Inspection from 28-30 Oct 2018 commenced at the CSD organisation. Twenty five participants from different naval commands are taking part in the training session. All officers of the CSD organisation were present in a ceremony with CSD the chief guest.

The Annual Inspection of BN Dockyard was held on 24 Sep 2018. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard reviewed the parade at Dockyard Parade Ground at 0805 where all officers, sailors and selected civilian personnel were present. He also inspected a number of select offices, messes and workshops on the same day. On the following days at 1200, the general evaluation took place at Dockyard Parade Ground with lively participation by all members of CSD organisation.

The Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Material), Rear Admiral Muhammad Shafiul Azam, NUP, ndc, psc visited CSD Organisation on 30 Aug 2018. He walked around different undergoing projects to know the state of work and progress of the projects. Specially, he visited the ongoing construction of IFF centre. He was briefed about the progress of the project on the site and in CSD Conference Room. Later on, he shared the experience about some capacity building project undertaken by BN with the officers of CSD Organisation.

The Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated on 22 Aug 2018. The main Eid congregation was held at BNS ISSA Khan Parade Ground at 0730 hrs. All Admin Authorities, Officers, Sailors and Civilians of Chattogram Naval Area were present. CSD exchanged Eid greetings with personnel on duty at the Dockyard Guard Room. Later he along with all his senior staff exchanged Eid greetings with members of CSD organisation and allied offices at the Dockyard Recreation Hall. After this they exchanged Eid greetings with personnel from ships under refit and patients admitted at naval hospital BNS PATENGA.

The Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), Rear Admiral M Makbul Hossain, OSP, BCGMS, ndu, psc visited CSD Organisation on 26 July 2018. He went to inspect the progress of ongoing construction of CSD Wardroom (BOQ) and IFF Centre.

The Commodore Superintendent Dockyard inaugurated the Tree Plantation Campaign - 2018 at the CSD Organisation on 29 July 2018. He planted a Coconut palm at Dockyard Football Ground. After the plantation, a special prayer was offered to Almighty Allah for the well-being of all the members of Bangladesh Navy, and the success of the plantation campaign.

A delegation consisting three members led by Major General Staff Pilot Ishaq Salah Al Baloushi Head of Executive Administration, UAE Army visited CSD Organisation on 04 July 2018. On his arrival, he was briefed about the activities of CSD Organisation and Bangladesh Navy. He visited Machine Shop and observed the activities therein.

The Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated on 16 June 2018. The Eid congregation of Chittgong Naval Area was held at ISSA Khan and Flotilla & Dockyard Mosques at 0730 hrs where all Officers, Sailors and Civilians were present. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard exchanged the Eid greetings with all members of CSD organisation at the Dockyard Recreation Hall after the prayer.

The Bangla Nobobarsho was celebrated on 01 Baishakh 1425 (14 Apr 2018) in Chittagong Naval Area in a festive mode. A cultural program was arranged in Command Mess premises by BN Ladies Club, Chittagong. Enthusiastic participation of officers, ladies and kids made the occasion a colorful one. In the same day, another enchanting program was arranged by BNFWA Chittagong in Sailors' Colony - 2 to celebrate the day as traditional heritage. The Commander BN Fleet, Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haq, (C), NUP, ndc, afwc, psc graced the both programmes as chief guest.

The CSD Organisation organised the annual event of football competition among its various shops and departments. The final match was played between Blue and Yellow teams at Dockyard Football Ground on 08 April 2018. The Blue Team beat the Yellow Team by 5-4 goals in a tightly contested match that had to be decided in a tie breaker. The event was attended by all personnel of the organisation where the Commodore Superintendent Dockyard was the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the champion and runner up teams. O No 20150090 M Tanjir (Writer-I) of Blue Team was adjusted best player to win the Golden Boot.

The BN T20 Cricket Championship 2018 organised by BN Dockyard, was held at Area Sports Complex from 25 March to 01 April 2018, where 09 teams from different naval areas participated. The final match was played by Frigate Squadron team and Special Command Team on 01 April 2018. Frigate Squadron team won the champion's trophy beating Special Command by 24 runs. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard witnessed the final match as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the champion and runner up teams. S Lt M Shakawat (S), BN (P No 3092) was declared Man of the Match and Man of the Series.

BN Dockyard celebrated 48th Independence and National Day on 26 March 2018. On the occasion, all personnel of BN Dockyard (Military and Civil) paid tributes to the Martyrs and Veterans of the 1971 Liberation War with special Munajat after Fajr Prayer. A Documentary Film Show on 'Sadhinota Kibhabe Amader Holo' was arranged in Dockyard Recreation Hall.

He congratulated everybody for successful conduct of National Standard Award Ceremony with their sincere efforts and hard work. He said that the awarding of National Standard has added additional responsibilities to all the dockyard personnel for upholding the dignity and honour more than before.

Honourable Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina awarderd National Standard to BN Dockyard on 21 March 2018 as recognition for many years of service to the nation by keeping the naval fleet fit and ready for sea and achieving self-reliance in warship repair and maintenance by maintaining international standard. On that occasion, Honourable Prime Minister expected that the handing over of National Standard to BN Dockyard will be considered as a glorious episode in the history of Bangladesh Navy and the Dockyard will further strengthen the Navy's capabilities and image by rendering services with professional efficiency and patriotism.

He chaired a coordination meeting at CSD conference room with concerned civil and military officers regarding amendment of existing recruitment rules of civil employees. The discussion was also attended by nominated civil officers from other naval areas.

The Annual Picnic of BN Dockyard took place on 27 Dec 2017 at The Dockyard Football Ground. There was very sportive and lively participation in the picnic and all associated events by all personnel of the dockyard and their family members. The Dockyard premises were decorated with colorful balloons, festoons and banners which gave a vibrant and festive look. Commodore Superintendent Dockyard was present as Chief Guest on the occasion. It was also attended by other senior officers from other naval commands in the area.
